Junior Trenton DiGenova is one of the key returners for the Hornets wrestling team.

Wrestling team’s building blocks rely on young athletes

The wrestling team opens its season on Wednesday, Dec. 5, against Goodrich.

The Hornets face off against the Martians starting at 5:30 p.m.

The team is being led by a new coach, Mr. Steven Bauer.

Junior John Brown, one of the key returners,  plans on breaking down the process for young grapplers in hopes to build a strong team.

“I want to slow things down so everyone can really grasp what’s being taught,” Brown said.

Brown is worried about the team’s outcome due to its inexperience.

“We have a really young and new team this year, and it won’t help the team at all,” Brown said.
