Cheerleaders tumble for competitive season
After a two week break, the cheerleaders are ready for competitive season.
The teams first competition is Friday, Dec. 4, at Waterford Mott, starting at 6 p.m.
Many cheerleaders are eager to start the competitive cheer season and step out on the mats for either the first time or since February of last year.
Sophomore Isabella Baltosser has faith that her team has the ability to succeed.
“All of our girls are working hard everyday, putting in the time at home to perfect our rounds, and doing everything to get us to where we strive to be,” Baltosser said. “We are starting out better this year than where we ended last year and we are fighting for this title harder than ever.”
Sophomore Alexus Ross agrees that her team has potential.
“We have more understanding and talent on our team this year,” Ross said. “We are ready for the road ahead of us.”
The cheerleaders are ready to get back on the mats and accomplish as much as they can as both a team and individuals.
Megan Flynn, sophomore, is excited to see where both teams end up this season.
“I’m really most excited to see where we go because we have new girls with brand new potential,” Flynn said.
Sophomore Annalesa DePottey said the cheer team could win their third consecutive Metro League championship.
“I think we have a very good chance at going three year Metro League,” DePottey said.
Both varsity and junior varsity recently had a seven-hour lock-in practice to help them learn their rounds, and they had a little break for dinner.
The girls know what is needed to be done in order to get where they want to be as a team and win their first competition.
These cheerleaders are ready to jump back into their gymnastics and work harder than before.
Madison Kreinbrink, senior, said she is working to develop her back handspring.
“I want to try and get my back handspring before my last competition season is over,” Kreinbrink said.
