These are the four ingredients you will need to make this treat. Any brand will do the trick.

As Halloween quickly approaches, it becomes harder to find last minute recipes that aren’t so tedious and costly.

With the chilly weather, nothing is better than being able to stay in the house and whip together a delicious, festive recipe with your family.

If you are trying to get into the Halloween spirit and need an idea to get going, look no further: Chocolate covered pretzel pumpkins are just for you.

Ingredients (brands of your choice):

  • 1 bag of tiny twist pretzels
  • 16 oz. of white melting chocolate
  • Orange, white, or brown food coloring
  • Green M&M’s

To start off, have a bowl, fork, and your M&M’s ready. Then, lay out enough sheets of wax paper to place however many dozens of pumpkins you are making (the recipe above is enough to make 3-4 dozens.)

Now, get 2 cups of your white melting chocolate and melt it according to its package directions. To keep it simple, I melted mine in the microwave for one minute in a microwave safe bowl and stirred the chocolate at 10 second intervals until it was fully melted.

If you choose to use the microwave, the bowl in which the chocolate is in may be hot. So be cautious when removing it.

Once the chocolate is melted, add drops of the food coloring and stir until the desired color you want has been met. (Do not add too much, as it will harden up the chocolate.)

After the stirring process, your pretzels are now ready to be dipped.

Take a fork and stick the pretzel between the tines, then dip the pretzel into the chocolate until it is entirely covered. Once the pretzel is covered, lay it on the wax paper and quickly place a green M&M at the top of the pretzel so it sticks to the chocolate.

Repeat this process with every pretzel.

When you are finished with the pretzels, leave them out to cool for about 15 minutes. Or for a more speedy crisp, place them in the freezer.

Once the chocolate hardens, the chocolate covered pretzel pumpkins are completed and ready to enjoy.
