Creek, Linden run past boys track

The boys track and field team lost  to Swartz Creek 87.5-48.5 and  to Linden 66.5-61.5 on Wednesday, May 9.

In the 100-meter dash, senior Tre’Ron Griffin sprinted his way to a second-place finish. Griffin’s 11.52 second dash is his fastest of the season.

Griffin also set his season record in the 200 dash, finishing in 23.70 for second place.

In the 400 dash, Griffin took first with a 52.54 sprint.

Sophomore Raydoffa Braziel ran for second in the 800 run, setting a personal record of 2:07.25.

Braylon Silvas, freshman, set a personal record of 16.62 in the 110 high hurdles.

Silvas (42.60) and junior Austin Hennessy (48.30) placed first and third in the 300 hurdles, respectively.

Junior Eddie Harris led the Hornets in the shot put, putting for a distance of 44 feet, 9 inches.

In the pole vault, senior Philip Stites took home first with a height of 9-06.

Silvas took first in the long jump with a leap of 19-08.

The team is fifth in the Metro League with a 4-4 record.

The Hornets will compete in the Davison Twilight Invitational on Friday, May 11.
