The boys track and field team beat Clio 84-52 and Owosso 84-53 Monday, April 30, at Owosso.

In the 100-meter dash, seniors Tre’Ron Griffin and Carlos Macedo took first and second, sprinting with times of 11.92 and 12.04 seconds, respectively.

Griffin also took first in the 200 and 400 dashes, finishing with times of 24.50 and 53.55, respectively. His performance in the 400 is his best of the season.

In the 800 run, sophomore Raydoffa Braziel took first (2:10.21) and junior Josh Bischoff placed third. Bischoff’s time of 2:16.56 set his season record.

In the 1600 run, Braziel placed second, running a time of 4:57.70.

Braziel feels his training throughout the season is coming to fruition.

“It feels rewarding because my hard work paid off,” Braziel said.

He credits his success in part to Griffin, who has mentored him throughout the season.

“He’s got my head on track,” Braziel said. “He’s a great motivator.”

Freshman Braylon Silvas took first in the 110 high hurdles, hurdling his way to a time of 17.46.

Silvas placed second in the 300 hurdles, running the event in a time of 44.59. He also took first in the long jump, leaping 18 feet, 10.25 inches.

In the 3200 relay, the team of Bischoff, Alex Willers, Malik Davis, and Braziel took first, finishing with a time of 8:53.47.

In the shot put, junior Eddie Harris won the event with a put of 41-05, while senior Mateo Booth took third. Booth’s throw of 37-9 set his personal record.

Harris and junior Dylan Buschur took first and second in the discus. Harris’ throw of 126-10 set a personal record for this season. Buschur toss was 107-10.

Senior Gavin Etson took first in the high jump with a height of 5-06.

In the pole vault, senior Philip Stites took third with a personal record of 9-06.

The team is now 3-1 in the Metro League and will visit Fenton on Wednesday to face the Tigers and Holly.
