Demand Six

The second and final thing EMPOWER is against is placing guns and armed guards in schools.

There are no bills or laws that go along with this demand, and it is more their opinion on the matter.

EMPOWER is against any legislation that would put guns in schools purposely.

The organization believes that having more guns in schools will just add to the gun violence and race situations around the country. They think that it will impact the black and Hispanic communities negatively.

EMPOWER believes armed guards would make schools feel like prisons and bring police brutality into schools. The organization believes that giving guns to untrained, or even under-trained, teachers would be a recipe for disaster.
