High school was a four-year roller coaster and the ride has finally come to an end.
It’s time to say goodbye, a bittersweet but exciting moment.
There are many things I won’t miss about high school: the noisy lunchroom, the students who like to scream in the hallways, waking up early, and the 4oo Hallway.
But there are some things I will miss:
I’ll miss my friends who are moving away, some out of state.
I’ll miss the journalism room and reminisce on the hours I’ve spent and the many stories I’ve written in there.
I’ll miss my adviser, Darrick Puffer, and all the weekend goodbyes, the many lessons he taught in and out of the classroom, and the jokes he makes.
Surprisingly, I’m going to miss calculus. That class has made me cry on many occasions, but I’m going to miss the jokes we make in that class, the Friday warm ups, my teacher, Ms. Mary Riley, believing in me even though I’ve given up, and the feeling of getting a hard problem right.
High school has taught me many things, and I plan to take every lesson I’ve learned with me for the rest of my life. To all my seniors and underclassmen, best wishes to you and your future. And in the words of Mr. Puffer, whatever you do, do it safely, do it legally, and stay out of trouble.
