Fenton/Linden outlasts hockey team
United hockey fell at home to Fenton/Linden 6-4 on Wednesday, Feb. 22.
United kept it close until the third period. United was down 5-4 after two periods, and then Fenton/Linden scored a goal in the third to clinch the game.
Lake Fenton’s Alec Copeland, junior, scored two goals in the game, which were his first goals since a two-goal game at Grand Rapids.
Holly senior Luke Harrington and Kearsley sophomore Landon Kash each netted a goal.
Harrington also received two assists in the game and his goal was scored short-handed.
The team’s leading scorer, junior Aidan Flick (25 goals, 10 assists) had two assists as well.
United Hockey, which is a cooperative team involving Kearsley, Lake Fenton, Holly, and Brandon, is now 4-12-1 with two games left.
The team’s next game is at the Southgate Civic Ice Arena against the Airport/Flat Rock/Summit Academy Jets on Friday, Feb. 24.
