Cheer springs into first place at league jamboree

The cheer team won the first league jamboree of the season Wednesday, Jan. 11.

The cheer team took first place at home Wednesday, Jan. 10.

Kearsley hosted and won the Flinto Metro League Competitive Cheer Jamboree — the first one of the season.

The cheer team earned a total of 427.26,  beating Clio with 419.48, and Swartz Creek with 413.06.

The team earned 218.70 in round one and 208.56 in round two.

Freshman Alyssa Smith is proud of where the team is now.

“We did really well at our competition, and we are completing some of our goals,” Smith said. ” We could all feel by the energy level that in our hearts competitive cheer was what we were meant to do.”

The team’s next competition is Saturday, Jan. 14, at Clio High School.
