The last game of the football season marks the end of the marching band season and the beginning of the symphonic band’s season.

Band members such as Kelsie Rose, junior, find the change refreshing.

Rose said, “I like the change because sticking to one type of band would be boring.”

Symphonic band starts off with Christmas music in preparation for the winter concert and the elementary sing-a-longs that the band does annually.

“In previous years, we practiced more for our winter concert rather than the elementary sing-a-long,” Rose said. “This year we started with the sing-a-long music.”

During symphonic season the band focuses on both Christmas and spring-type music.

Rose said,”I love playing Christmas music at our winter concert and fun upbeat songs at the spring concert.”
