A new forensics club has started up this school year.

The forensics club, which centers around debate and public speaking, is coached by Mr. Michael Whalen, and it aims to surpass more experienced teams.

“Students had mentioned they were interested in starting a team, and I was interested in helping that happen,” Whalen said.

The team meets every Friday to prepare for competitions and to keep pace with the experienced teams.

“I think we will perform above average compared to other first-year groups,” Whalen said. “We have members of the team who are willing to go above and beyond to prepare for the tournaments outside of our practices.”
