Tennis team ties with Fenton

The tennis team tied with the Fenton Tigers 4-4 on the road Thursday, April 20.

The Hornets won all of their points from their doubles matches.

The No. 1 doubles team of sophomores Chloe Clarambeau and Emily Jones lost their first match 7-5, but won the other two matches 6-2, 7-5.

At No. 2 doubles, Hannah Hendley, junior, and Bree Rosenbum, senior, wrapped up their matches with two 6-4 wins.

Next up, was the No. 3 doubles team. Mallory Teed, junior, and Brooklynn Smith, sophomore, won their first and third matches 6-1 but lost their second match 6-4.

Securing a tie for the Hornets was the No. 4 doubles partners of sophomores Mickeely Dias and Mallory Simms, who won both of their matches 6-4, 6-3.

Smith thinks that the team is improving.

“We still have a lot of practices and games to improve our communication skills with our partners,” Smith said. “However, the team is doing fairly well.”

The Hornets appear next on Tuesday, April 25, at Swartz Creek. The match begins at 4:30 p.m.
