The soccer team played at Oxford, losing 8-0, on Wednesday, March 29.

The Hornets played a hard game and had many obstacles in their way.

One of these obstacles was that Senior Makenna Hass, goalkeeper, suffered an ankle injury that put her out of the game in the second half.

Hass saved the ball 23 times before the end of her game.

Junior Jayden Zayjac stepped in as a replacement goalkeeper for the remaining time.

Senior Sidney Shields was out the first game and played yesterday for the first time in the season.

“This was my first game, so I think we did decent,” Shields said. “But we need to work on communication.”

All of the girls were disappointed over the loss and the injury of one of their teammates.

The Hornets play next April 10 at Flint Southwestern Academy at 6 p.m.
