Seniors Madison Teed (l to r), Kassidy Krist, and Hailey Baltosser are excited to compete for the first time at the MHSAA Division 2 cheer state final on Saturday, March 4.

The cheerleaders are having a pep assembly on Friday, March 3, in the gym at noon.

The girls will be performing all three rounds for family and fans.

Immediately afterward, the girls will get on the bus and leave for the MHSAA Division 2 state final.

The Hornets are competing at the Delta Plex in Grand Rapids and will stay the night Friday and come home later on Saturday, March 4, after the competition.

The cheerleaders need support because they couldn’t have gotten this far without it.

Senior Kaitlyn Alburtus wants everyone who is able to come.

“Cheerleaders need some cheering on too,” Alburtus said. ” We have worked so hard this season. It would mean a lot to have a crowd.”

In addition, senior Kassidy Krist anticipates the competition on Saturday.

“I’m not really nervous. I’m more excited because this is the first time we’ve ever been to the state final,” Krist said. “I’m exited for the team to make a name for Kearsley.”
