The boys bowling team beat Brandon and Fenton on Saturday, Jan. 21., moving the team’s record to 10-0.

Competing first against Brandon, the Hornets won their match 21-9 after losing the first Baker game.

Senior Zach Timm led the team with games of 235 and 209.

Timm said he threw his best game using his “ability to get ahead and notice how the lanes were breaking down.”

He also said he listened to “what my coach was telling me to do.”

The Hornets won the first individual game, making the match 13-6.

During the second game, Timm and junior Chase Gebhardt were the only two bowlers who won their individual points.

The Hornet’s total pinfall was 1,986 to Brandon’s 1,861.

The team took on Fenton next, which it won 28-2.

Sophomore Kyle Langworthy led the Hornets against the Tigers, rolling a high game of 227.

Timm racked up 225 pins for his highest game, while junior Chase Gebhardt threw a 213 for his high game.

“We’re all feeling like we have a good shot at remaining undefeated,” Timm said. “Flushing is a really a good team and makes us earn our wins. In order for us to remain undefeated, we have to bowl much better than what we have been.”

The Hornets appear next at Clio Bowl for a double match against Flushing and Holly on Saturday, Jan. 28.

The first match begins at 9:30 a.m.
