Boys bowling beats Swartz Creek, places second in tournament

The boys bowling took second place at a Flint-area tournament Sunday, Jan. 15.

The Hornets defeated Swartz Creek on Saturday, Jan. 14, at Colonial Lanes.

After losing the both Baker games, the team came back and won both individual games.

Senior Bryce McKerchie led the team with games of 225 and 239.

The Hornets had a total pinfall of 2,351 and Swartz Creek’s pinfall was 2,046.

The team also finished as runners-up at a Flint-area tournament on Sunday, Jan. 15, at Richfield Bowl.

Senior Brandon Wheeler was the only boy to make the All-Tournament team.

Wheeler had games of 231, 224, and 236 for a total of 691.

During match play, the team defeated Davison in the semifinals.

However,  the Hornets lost to Lapeer in the final.

Kearsley appears next at Cherry Hill Lanes in Clarkston, on Saturday, Jan. 21, to play against Brandon and Fenton.
