The girls bowling team beat Fenton 30-0 in their match at Richfield Bowl Saturday, Dec. 3.

The Hornets won 179-144 in the first Baker game and 137-113 in the second Baker game.

That put the girls in a 10-0 lead on their way to individuals.

In the first individual game, Kearsley took all nine points as they shot 920 to Fenton’s 550.

Leading the girls were freshman Imari Blond, who shot 213 in the second round of individuals, junior Emma Boychuk with a 200 in the first set of individuals, and sophomore Alexis Roof, who rolled a 195 in the second round of individual games.

The total pinfall for the match was Kearsley 2,164 to Fenton’s 1,497, giving Kearsley a dominant start to their season.

The girls also competed in the L’Anse Creuse singles tournament on Sunday, Dec. 4.

Junior Barbara Hawes placed second.

Hawes’ nerves “got to” her, but she is still proud of having competed in the tournament.

“It felt cool because I never made it past the second round before and this was my first time in an all-varsity tournament,” Hawes said.
