The soccer team holds a press conference Thursday, June 2, after advancing to the district final.

The Hornets swarmed the soccer field after the district semifinal when Kearsley won 2-1 against the Holly Bronchos on Thursday, June 2.

After Kearsley and Holly ended in a tie in overtime, the Hornets went into a shootout with Holly.

Three Hornets scored in the shootout, which was one more than Holly.

“While I was nervous at first,” Hass said, “once I blocked the first attempted goal (in the shootout), I began to feel more confident.”

Livingston scored the final goal resulting in a win for the Hornets, sending Kearsley to the district final.

Kearsley battles Fenton on Friday,  June 3. Fenton is hosting the district tournament.
